Cape Town, South Africa
On 21 March 2018, we met in Cape Town, South Africa to discuss multinational efforts to promote democracy, human rights and the right to freedom of religion or belief in Africa. The Parliamentarians and political leaders attending the meeting came from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe and South Africa and there was representation from the International Panel of Parliamentarians for Freedom of Religion or Belief (IPPFoRB). It was at this meeting where the decision to focus on FoRB and democratic challenges in the DRC was taken as a starting point in our efforts to promote FoRB and democracy in Africa.
